Things You Want to Mention to Your Photographer!

The best way to make sure you have a successful family photography session is to make sure you have great communication with your photographer and everyone is on the same page. As a Family Photographer in Carleton Place I’ve come up with a few things you want to make sure you discuss with your photographer before your session!

Ottawa Valley Family of 6 Photo on Front Steps of Home

1 - What the goal of your session is. If you’re hoping for a classic family portrait to frame above your fireplace we need to know this. Candid images are very popular however they can be taken while the family is interacting between pictures and not the main focus. In contrast if you’re hoping to create a coffee table album capturing everyones personalities documenting a specific story like a home newborn session, this needs to be communicated as well.

2 - You’re inspiration! If you have a perfectly curated pinterest board devoted to what you hope your gallery from your session will look like, we want to see it! This will help us suggest the right location, the right time of day and guide you when picking out your wardrobe for the session.

3 - Any insecurities or shots your don’t want. This is so important because it will help us with posing but also ensure you don’t have any unwanted pictures in your gallery .

All in all, great communication between you and your photographer is a sure way for you pictures to be EXACTLY what you were hoping for and more!
