Location, Location, Location!

Before making a decision on what kind of background you want, think about where you’ll be using this photo. Did you want a cohesive look for all the employees at your office and the ability to constantly add more staff members photos as they get hired or are you hoping to pick a location/setting that will make your personality stand out! While you’re thinking, here are a few options:

1. Studio Setting/Solid Backdrop - This is a classic option. You can go with either a white, black or coloured backdrop and we even have the ability to remove the background if you need to add digital backgrounds to your photo.

2. Outdoor or on Location Setting - This is a great option if you want to reflect your personality with a certain look, want a nature setting, want to tell a story by setting the scene with your photo or if you want to use a building with cool architecture as a background.

3. Blurry/Out of Focus Background - This type of background is created by an effect we call Bokeh. This is when the background of the image is completely out of focus/blurry. The location will influence the colours and lighting of the Bokeh. This background option for your headshot or portrait creates a cool aesthetic to your image.

I offer on location headshot photography services to make it convenient for my clients, this means the ability to use your own office setting as the backdrop, outdoor setting or I can also bring my mobile lighting and coloured backdrops.

What do I wear to my headshot photography session?

There is no right or wrong thing to wear but you want to consider how you typically dress to work, where you’ll be using the pictures and make sure to wear something you’re comfortable in. If you’re hoping for your pictures to fit your brand, look for an outfit that might compliment your branding colours.

In the past, we’re set up our gear for professional headshot photography sessions in conference rooms, lunch rooms, employee offices and reception areas. It all depends on what is available for us to use during that time and how big the space is.
