Must Have Wedding Picture List
Pictures are worth a thousand words and hundreds of pictures get taken at every Wedding.
When photographing a Wedding I like to go through a list of family members attending the Wedding that the Bride and Groom want a picture with. This way we are sure not to miss important pictures and it also helps understand the family dynamics and all members attending before the big day.
The list mentioned includes all must have pictures including the traditional Wedding pictures for Mom and Dad BUT those are not the only must have images we should be remembering to capture for the happy couple on their special day.
Here is my list of top 5 must have pictures to re-create the special day through my photographs.
1. Location Images
This is a great way to capture the feel, the hard work and attention to detail that has been put into the planning of the Wedding.
2. Detailed Pictures of the Rings and Flowers
The rings are a very important part of the ceremony therefore I find it important when telling a story of the wedding. For some Brides the flowers picked out for the day may have sentimental value as do heirloom rings.
3. Crisp Ceremony Picture
When taking pictures of the ceremony I want to make sure to get a sharp close up shot of both the bride and the groom. The emotions you will capture during the ceremony are so raw and true which will translates beautifully in pictures. I also like to make sure to include a wide shot of all the guests with the couple standing in front of everyone.
4. Album Cover Picture
The reason this made the list is actually because I remember how much trouble we had finding the right picture that could fit in the little “window” on the front of my husband and I’s own Wedding Album that didn’t cut off half our heads. Creating a “Show Case” image that can easily be cropped to fit album covers or Thank You card templates is a must. This is often more of a “Traditionally Posed” portrait.
5. Candid Moments
These are the moments between the poses, the moments when no one is looking or when EVERYONE is looking. I love candid pictures because that is when you get to capture the true deep happiness of the bride and groom as well as their guests.
